Saturday Just Got a Whole Lot Better

So as if Kate Spade couldn't get ANY better.....

It just did.

Introducing, Kate Spade Saturday. A fun, casual, eclectic mix of Kate Spade and retro cool with a mod twist. The brand was launched earlier this year and most recently has been spotted in "pop-up shops" around the NYC area. The line features the cutest weekender bags, sandals. iPhone cases, and even pillows! The prints are fresh and fun, and the prices won't break you bank (need I say more?!).

But the best part of Kate Spade Saturday? The brand's use of social media. Saturday has been born on platforms like Twitter (@ks_saturday) and Instagram (@ks_saturday), and uses these everyday to interact with customers. The twitter feed is constantly responding and interacting with users, and Saturday has already had tons of Instagram activity advertising their 24 hour pop-up shops, located throughout NYC for only a short time. Even the site is fun! Visit the FYI Guide for short videos on how to style their favorite pieces multiple ways. Or head to the Design Your Own Weekender bag to build a one of a kind bag perfect for summer getaways.

It's time other retailers take note: the best way to develop a brand is to have a strong social media presence. It leads to brand loyalty, which turns into repeat purchasers, which means lots of dollar signs (simple marketing math, really).

So without further adieu, I bring you my absolute favorite from the Saturday collection, even though if I could, I would have them all!

Let's Get Nauti

The fact that the nautical trend is finally catching on is music to my ears (and wardrobe!). I own enough anchors, stripes, and navy blue to last me a lifetime. But lately I've been trying to mix up my color scheme, while staying within my nautical roots. The best thing about this style? It can be dressed up or dressed down oh so easily!

Nautical Peplum

I love how this peplum look is here to stay, and it can be so fun paired with some fun seersucker shorts. This Kiel James Patrick bracelet is THE summer bracelet, and don't forget your Jack Rodgers sandals, the ultimate summer shoe.

casual nautical

Ok so I HAD to include just one outfit with anchors! This dress is the perfect daytime dress, and with navy accents (like these to die for Brooks Brothers sling backs) and topped with a fun tortoise necklace, you'll be ready to hit the shoreline (or the mall, your choice).

lilly seersucker

It's also almost impossible to write a nautical post without including a Lilly Pulitzer dress. I love this look because it can go from day to night so easily: the sunnies are gorgeous for daytime wear, and the gold jewelry is perfect for a night out. Also snuck in some more anchors, oops!

sail to sable

Welcome to my favorite new dress line everyone, Sail to Sable. These fun and preppy tunics come in a range of colors and styles, and are SO flattering on every shape. Check out all their dresses and I promise, you won't be disappointed! Again, paired with a Kiel James Patrick bracelet, Jack Rodgers sandals, and a fun cork clutch, you're dressed to impress.

No matter how you choose to style your nautical look, have fun with it! Stick to clean lines, stripes, seersucker, and of course, throw a couple anchors in there too.

Bring on Wedding Season

While summer does mean no more tests, lazy days, tan lines, and sunstreaked hair, it also announces the beginning of another “season”: wedding season. Sure, you’ve been getting the save the dates, you’ve seen the facebook coundowns until the “Big Day!”, but its just now dawning on you that all those weddings mean new dresses! Because there really isn’t a better excuse to buy a whole new outfit than “I have a friend’s wedding, and everyone there has already seen all my cute dresses!” It also begs the question of just what is appropriate wedding attire? Can you wear heels to a beach wedding? Does black tie mean a floor length dress? How short is too short? Have no fear, this simple wedding guide breaks it all down for you, from shoes to clutches to earrings and more!

Traditional Wedding

This type of wedding usually allows for a bit of fun fashion creativity. So why not play with a fun print or bust out a bright color? My current obsession is the J.Crew scallop dress because, let’s be honest, what’s not to love? Top it off with mint and gold accessories for a fun, polished look. Plus, those Kate Spade heels are to die for!

Formal Wedding

Check the invitation for specific instructions, but usually this does not mean ballgown attire. Nevertheless, keep it classy with a high neckline, simple accessories, and muted shoes. This Milly dress is an adorable silloutte with a fun but not too over the top print. Let your dress be the focal point with a simple pearl necklace and conservative heels.

Outdoor Wedding

No matter where you are, there’s a good chance this wedding is going to get a bit toasty. Stay cool with an adorable Lilly Pulitzer shift in fun and beachy colors. Choose wedges over heels to keep your feet from sinking into grass or sand, and top it off with a laidback, cool clutch like this J.Crew straw one.

No matter the type of wedding, it’s all about having fun! Pick a cute outfit, killer accessories, but most importantly: your dancing shoes! Get ready to have fun and celebrate with the bride and groom!
